Write for us
Emerald Garden Guide welcomes considered pitches about garden design, plant forms, seasonal change, materials and garden history. We look for specific ideas that help a general reader notice or understand something in an outdoor space.
What makes a strong pitch
Tell us the subject, the central point and why it would interest our readers. A good proposal has a clear focus, a useful angle and a sense of what the finished piece would explain. Comparisons, thoughtful background and practical observation can all work, provided the piece stays within safe, general garden guidance.
Keep it specific
Rather than offering a broad piece about gardens, propose a distinct question: how a particular layout changes the view, what makes two plant forms different, or why a familiar garden feature took the shape it did. Please say what material or experience supports your idea, and flag any uncertainty or limits.
How to send a proposal
Send your pitch through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a short outline and any relevant writing context, but do not send a complete article unless requested. A proposal is not a promise of publication, and we may edit accepted work for clarity and fit.
Good gardens reward a closer look
A useful garden story starts with noticing what is there: a plant's shape, a path's direction or the way a corner changes with the light.
