Emerald Garden Guide

Editorial policy

Emerald Garden Guide aims to make garden subjects clear, accurate and enjoyable to explore. We explain what an article can reasonably say, avoid dressing opinion as fact and make room for corrections when something needs attention.

Accuracy and scope

We check names, terms and factual claims before publication and take care to distinguish explanation from personal preference. Garden conditions differ, so we avoid implying that one approach suits every place. Where a question depends on local rules, a particular site or expert assessment, we say so rather than guessing.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial choices are made for readers, not in exchange for a favourable mention. Any paid, sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled so it can be recognised as such. A partnership does not guarantee coverage, and commercial relationships do not change our obligation to describe a subject fairly.

Corrections

If a published detail is inaccurate or unclear, readers can tell us through the Contact page. We review correction requests, update the relevant text when warranted and make meaningful corrections clear to readers. We do not promise that every disagreement will lead to a change, but we do consider specific, well-explained concerns.

Images and illustrations

Images may be illustrative rather than documentary. Some illustrations are AI-generated and are not evidence that a particular garden, plant or scene exists as shown. We aim to label illustrative material clearly and never use an image to stand in for proof of a gardening result.

Our point of view

Good gardens reward a closer look

A useful garden story starts with noticing what is there: a plant's shape, a path's direction or the way a corner changes with the light.
